Mahu Wang RM500?

KUALA LUMPUR: Special counters to register low-income households to facilitate the disbursement of a RM500 one-time aid announced in Budget 2012 would be set up in all the districts nationwide.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said they would start the registration in November.

The RM500 aid was aimed at helping families with a monthly household income of below RM3,000 and single mothers.

“We hope everyone will give us their cooperation. We may also require help from non-governmental organisations,” he told reporters after launching the 11th SIP International Prodigy Abacus, Mental Arithmetic Competition here.

The government is expected to distribute some RM1.8bil to 3.4 million families nationwide, he said [The Star]
